The Quinta Santa Catarina is a large estate of 13ha with a built area of over 800m2, comprising a main house and a guest house. For health reasons, the former owners had to return to their native country, leaving the property abandoned and nature coming into its own again. A kind of Sleeping Beauty. The ivy had lifted the roof, humidity had permeated the walls and the access to the magnificent pool was blocked by thorns and bushes. Most of the surrounding land was inaccessible. Despite all this, the potential was obvious. It took three years of meticulous renovation work to restore its full potential, turning this 30 years old property into a modern home equipped with the latest technologies without losing its original soul. Solar energy, underfloor heating, new plumbing with more efficient lift pumps, new glazing were installed to provide a modern comfort. The exteriors have been landscaped with new outdoor areas and pathways have been created to give access to the entire 13 hectares land.
